Glorious as a side dish or mixed with pasta. Mushrooms have a heavenly texture cooked this way, takes a while but worth it!
Salt and pepper the mushrooms liberally and put them in a colander over the sink. Let them release liquid for 30 minutes to an hour, rinse and pat dry. Heat oven to 225F degrees. In an oven proof dish, put mushrooms and other ingredients, covering with oil. Cover dish with foil. Bake 1 1/2 hours or until mushrooms are tender.
Beautiful when done with whole mushrooms but may take 2 hours to cook, depending on how large your mushrooms are.
