Suggest a better descriptionPreheat grill to high, in large pan heat oil, add garlic, onion and carrots, Cover and cook 5 mins until sort, stir.
Add beans, stock and 100ml boiling water, bring to simmer, stir. Add cabbage and cook 5 mins until tender.
Place bacon under grill on rack and cook 5 mins, turn until crisp. Cool and tear into pieces, stir into soup.
Scatter with basil, grind pepper, serve with breadsticks or warm ciabatta bread.
Tastes good the next day reheated.
