Suggest a better descriptionScald milk, potato water, salt, sugar, and Crisco. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast, eggs, and flour (makes soft dough). Knead dough. Let rise until doubled, approximately 1-1.5 hours. Roll out dough to about 1/4" thick. Butter the dough and cut it into triangles (about 6" wide at the bottom). Pit about 1/4 cup filling on large end of triangle, roll over filling once, then tuck sides in and continue rolling crescent roll style. Put on ungreased cookie sheet, seam side down. Bake at 425* for 12-18 min depending on the oven. Makes about 100-120 spec rolls.
**To make the dough more manageable, divide the dough ingredients into 2 batches to mix them. After kneading the dough, divide it into 4 large bowls to let it rise. Put a warm towel over the dough you're not using at the moment to keep it from drying out. Flour table and rolling pin to make rolling out easier.
