These brownies are fudgy, moist, and loaded with rich chocolate flavor. Make these from the basic recipe or try a variation.
1. Preheat the oven to 350?F.
2. Put the butter, unsweetened chocolate, and cocoa powder in a double boiler and heat until the butter and chocolate are melted while stirring frequently.
3. Whisk the eggs, sugar, brown sugar, salt, and vanilla in a mixing bowl until well combined and somewhat fluffy. Whisk in the cooled chocolate mixture (use a rubber spatula to get every bit) until mostly combined - you should see streaks of colors.
4. Fold the flour into the batter with the rubber spatula until well combined. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Use the rubber spatula to grease down the bowl and smooth the top of the batter. Bake 35 to 40 minutes.
5. Let the brownies cool before you cut them into squares, or they will turn out crumbly.
You can layer mint or fruity icing on top of the brownies, then put melted chocolate on top for some variety.
