Granny's Sugar Cookies
I'm a teacher so in the summer I bring in additional income by having cupcake and cake camps in my kitchen. I love the creativity of the kids. It is so much fun!

Mexican Polvorones

Mexican Polvorones

Something is missing here... 1. The directions say to add the sugar twice. 2. How in the world are you suppose to coat a cookie with semi-sweet chocolate? 3. Clearly the picture shows the cookie covered in powdered sugar but no mention of it in the recipe. I'm headed to the Internet for this one! Are Mexican Polvorones the same as Mexican Wedding Cookies?

I use vanilla extract in the icing instead of lemon. Make sure it is clear vanilla so it doesn't discolor the icing.

Followed directions exactly but custard remained runny even after 5 hours in fridge. Not sure went wrong but I'm sure it will be tasty.

Filo Spinach Feta Bake

Filo Spinach Feta Bake

This time, instead of using rotisserie chicken I put a whole chicken in the crock pot with a little water before work. When I got home I simply cleaned the chicken off the bones and finished the recipe as usual. Worked well.

Ahhh! Thanks for posting this. I lost the recipe in my last move. I like to make it every Christmas with leftover turkey.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

I made this for youth group and trippled the recipe. It turned out soupy. I was so embarrassed. I know I calculated the measurements correctly when I tripled it. What went wrong?

I have been making this for years. I usually use a pound of beef and most of a bottle of BBQ sauce. I never measure anything with this recipe. Kid friendly: I teach a kids summer cooking class and they come back every year wanting to make these.

This is a hard recipe to find. A Christmas tradition started by Granny. She would start making them in October and freeze them. Some were rolled in nuts or Christmas colored coconut. Miss you Granny...

Orange Julius

I teach a cooking camp for our school's summer program and when we started this recipe they cringed at the OJ and milk combination. Our rule is try something new and they loved it. The front office staff was coming back looking for samples and asking for the recipe. My own kids beg for this refreshing treat. It makes my heart smile because this is the treat my mom would buy my brother and me at the mall if we were good while she shopped. Thanks for posting!

I'm so very sorry this recipe didn't work out for you. I have no idea what might have happened unless the milk mixture didn't thicken properly, or since you tripled the recipe, maybe it should have baked longer. If anything it's usually a little on the dry side when I make it and I've made a mental note to add a little more milk next time. I really hate that it embarrassed you.

@Jeanwgriffin, It looks correct now and showing as fractions on my end. Thanks for letting me know, not sure when this got changed on line to decimals. I never enter recipes in decimals, so that was odd. Hope you like it. I have made it many times for brunch get togethers and it is very tasty.
