I have 2 very small boys, 16 months apart, both under 5 years old. Felix is tall and skinny and only picks at food that isn't chicken or chocolate. Oscar is short and fat and destined to stay that way as he can't help stuffing himself 24 hours a day on any food that is within reach (including the cats' food and playdough).
When I'm not cooking (which is most of the time) I enjoy knitting, finding new music, watching the same movies over and over (which I also do when cooking) and I'm way past half way on a novel I've been writing. Oh yeah, I work for an agency that represents photographers, fashion stylists, and makeup and hair artists for the fashion, film and advertising industries. My job is probably the coolest job on the planet - seriously.

PierogiesPierogies are favourites of mine. I added some onions to this and it was yum. But lots of prep time - of course that was expected! Nice one!

Cornbread with Honey ButterI finally got around to making this. It is definitely a Southern cornbread recipe, and scrumptious at that. Of course, I have a feeling the honey butter is going to become a staple in my world, though I think the peel was a bit too strong for the kids.

Cinnamon Apple BarsI've made this a few times, though for some reason, it only just took off with the kids. Now, it's a keeper.

Chicken and Corn SoupMy 9 year old is the resident chicken and corn soup expert. If it is on the menu, he will order it. He was the tester on this and pronounced it perfect. In fact, he had me portion out freezer portions just to suit him! This one is a keeper.

ApplesauceNice holiday taste on this. I think next time I will add the brown sugar when I add the apples and water, because it took too long for the apples to break down. Otherwise delicious.

Bourbon ChickenThis is really fantastic. Everyone loved it - especially me. This is going into the favourites section of my life. Also, it freezes surprisingly well, so I would use fresh meat and make a double batch for another day.

All In One CasseroleThis just might be the easiest thing to make ever. It is a lot like cabbage rolls without the work (or the rice). It's really cheap to make and rather delicious too. I felt it needed a bit of a kick and added Tabasco, but the kids felt it was fine without it (of course). We'll make it again.

All Day Crockpot Delight 2This is very delicious. Better still, you can use the cheapest cuts of beef to make it, making the recipe one of the most inexpensive you'll find. Noodles are indeed excellent with this, and I would serve with a side of green beans. Perfect for making and freezing. We'll make and eat this again!

30-Minute Country CaptainThis has such an interesting flavour to it. Despite the amount of curry powder (I used a rather pure Masala), the kids both remarked that it was nice. There are definite Indian overtones to the dish, so I will serve it with poppadoms or naan next time.

Baked Eggs with Croissants and JamI'm not sure why I waited so long until I made this again. It is utterly marvelous. Now that the kids are bigger this is something they can make with very little supervision (making it a great idea for breakfast in bed on Mother's Day). It's also perfect for a snack. You can prepare the croissants and jam the day before and simply whip up the eggs on the day to save time when you are hosting a brunch (or before heading off to school). This is moving overt to favourites.

Giant Cinnamon RollsThese are really wonderful. Just a note that the gluten is mentioned in the ingredient list, but not in the instructions. Which is fine, as I wasn't about to go out to buy just that. In any case - delicious and will certainly add to the rotation.

Homemade Flour TortillasTerrific and easy. Only wish I had a pasta machine to make rolling it out quicker.

|
Best Pumpkin Chocolate Chip CookiesThese are fantastic. My kids and I love them!

Perogies with Potato-Cheese FillingOkay, it was kind of hard to make heads or tails of this recipe, but I needed a perogie dough that didn't use sour cream (as there was none in the house). Dough is really stretchy and when it says rest it, that's what you need to do. In any case, kids loved it, I liked it and I will make again - though I have had to write down my own notes on what is what.

Skillet Pizza PotatoesThis is great. Very addictive. I used fresh potatoes (and onions) so that I could make to freeze for later in the month when I know I have no time, so it took a bit longer. But I am a convert and want it tonight!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork BarbecueSo good. I left the chili powder out for most of the cooking because of the kids. I added in somefresh chilies right at the end (after scooping out the kids'' portion) and it was great. Will make this again and again.
