Absolutely the most scrumptious concoction ever! Live a little...get sticky. Grab a napkin if you must, but resist the urge to grab a fork...eat like a monkey, use your hands as your utensils. Monkey Bread is well worth the mess every time. Kids love the gooey goodness! Adults gobble up the delicious--hot, buttery cinnamon sugar that melts in the mouth. This simple monkey bread recipe, made with refrigerator biscuits, will please all.
comfortfooddiva ,Thank you for this great recipe. My family was thrilled with the results. I used 1 1/2 sticks of butter and covered it loosely with foil about 30 min into baking then baked another 10 min. It was near perfection! The type of pan probably makes a difference with baking time and results. I used a stoneware bundt pan.11y
rachelsmith1 ,Delicious. Used one stick of butter instead of two. I might try baking at 325 for 40 min next time, because of a little bit of soggyness. But all in all absolutely delicious.11y
dkk4lions ,This is my kids' favorite! However, I only use one stick of butter. I did that by accident the first time, used two the second time; we prefer just one stick of butter. Also, I lay a piece of thin foil loosely over the bunt pan for the first 30 minutes so the top doesn't get so dark or hard. Absolutely the best ever!!!!11y
jesswim102 ,This was delicious!!! My 2 yr old and 5 yr old loved it!! Be careful flipping it over onto the platter, I flipped mine and a lot of the sauce spilled. Other than that it's easy to make and my 5 yr old loved helping me shake the biscuit pieces and layering it!11y
mya69 ,this will be going onto our 'favs' listing...my husband couldn't stop talking about 'em...& our daughter couldn't stop eating 'em! we even argued over who would get the last helping!! and so, so, so easy to make!! thanks for sharing the recipe! ?12y
sgrishka ,Sharon, Here in America, we can buy a cardboard tube of biscuit dough which is found in the refrigerated section of our grocery stores. In America, biscuits are a round fluffy scone type bread. I know that in Britain, biscuits are what we Americans call cookies. I assume with Australia's relationship to Britain that biscuits are the same in Australia as they are in Britain. Anyway, rather than making biscuits from scratch, many Americans opt for the ease of these refrigerator biscuits. You, simply pop open the tube, separate and lay out the biscuits in a pan or on a baking sheet and bake them. They are savory, not sweet and are usually eaten slathered with butter or margarine and can be filled jam, honey or sliced meats, what ever, like a bread. For this recipe, any one of your favorite scone, vanilla biscuit or white bread dough recipes would work fine.12y
sharonparker ,Can you please tell me what "refrigerator biscuits" are? Would love a recipe for this - is this a scone dough or bread, or sply a vanilla biscuit?12y
galactic_cannibal ,I didn't like these at all. They were much too sweet for me, not to mention the 2 sticks of butter, bleh. I made as directed in a bread pan and when i turned over after baking them for longer than directed, the rolls in the middle and bottom were still completely uncooked while the top ones were nearly burned. Will not be making these again. Yuck.12y
recipesrock ,Made it this morning. Delicious!! I did not have any vanilla, but it tasted excellent anyway.12y
unclekimmie ,Made this Christmas morning it was fabulous! Added more brown sugar to there recipe. Super quick and easy. So good that there were no leftovers!12y
cpjsicglc ,I made this in individual size bread pans and they where done in about 20 minutes. Very tasty and filling.12y
samdavis1 ,Even though I did not have a "bunt" pan I made it in a medal bowl and it turned out great!!!!12y
latashambooker ,Just made this today, it was awesome! I added a little more cinnamon and brown sugar. But the recipe was right on point. Thanks a bunch!12y
gregorym.glueck ,I made this Christmas morning for the family and everyone loved it; however when I turned it over to put it on the plate a lot of juice spilled out. Next time I will let it cool a little more before I flip it.12y
