Light, fluffy, and utterly perfect, These Buttermilk Pancakes are wonderfully thick, have a light and spongy texture and flavor that only hints of the richness and tanginess that buttermilk offers. Buttermilk has a nice thick and creamy texture with a rich tangy buttery flavor that makes these pancakes so tender, fluffy, and soft.

angelstraver ,It's great but I always mix the butter and sugar first before adding it into the mixture so the butter melts better into the mixture to avoid having those lumps in your batter. I also added a bit of cinnamon and a few bananas to the batter!3y
gregoryrogers ,So good. I made some today and put 2 per zip Lock bag to freeze and eat next week. I tested one as, of course, the cook must always ensure food safety and quality. 😜 it passed inspection with flying colors.4y
stevemur ,Delicious. Perfect way to use up extra buttermilk. Added 1 extra teaspoon sugar, and a little milk to thin the batter.6y
spierantoni ,These are by far the best pancakes ever. They are fluffy and moist, not crumbly. My family loves them!8y
latinvixxen ,I didn't have real butter (country crock), and I didn't have vanilla. I did add blueberries, and the pancakes still came out fluffy and delicious! Also couldn't wait to ensure room temperature eggs or milk, lol, but I was able to survive that...9y
speters5 ,I used to make the basic pancakes with milk and oil etc. I tried these today, the batter was quite thicker than the other but they turned out wonderful!! No more basic recipe! I will make these from now on!9y
ees55 ,These were probably some of the best homemade pancakes I have had. They turned out pretty tender and fluffy. I cooked mine on a nonstick pan on medium heat and it took about 4 minutes for the first side and 3 for the second side. I'm still trying to find a recipe for pancakes with as much tang and tenderness as the ones from The Original Pancake House though.9y
flytieguy ,First, let me say 'thank-you' for posting this recipe. My father passed away yesterday and I wanted to make my family something special. There was leftover buttermilk in the cooler (enough for 1/2 a recipe.) I changed the amounts of three ingredients and one method of prep. (as I always seem to do!) The net was 11 cakes, poured from a 1/4 c. measure. The results were wonderful!!! My family ate 'em up!! Thank you again!!9y
littleyellowsally ,Absolutely the best pancake recipe around. I love to make them thick and slightly doughy in the middle. Don't overcook. Perfect with a homemade buttermilk syrup. Thanks!9y
trtlmay ,These are my new favorite pancakes!! I add white chocolate chips to the batter after the first round comes off the griddle for a little variety and they are terrific!!9y
mariananunez23 ,These are the best home made pancakes ever! Much the same as cracker barrel.9y
timgraham1 ,Awesome pancake recipe. Thick and hearty, you may need to thin the batter out to your liking. This recipe worked out fine for us.10y
