After seeing all the suggestions of cinnamon I decided to replace the applesauce with my homemade apple butter and added some pecans fresh from my Aunt's tree. Came out fantastic! Can't wait to make it again.
Delicious! I some how forgot that I do not have a loaf pan, so I made mine into muffins. They turned out great. I let my 8 year old help me cook and test taste them. Needless to say they are adult and kid approved!!
This was very good and easy! I made 12 muffins instead of a loaf. They were done in about 25-30 mins. I added 2 tsp canola oil, cinnamon & instead of 1 cup of sugar I used 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup of light brown sugar. Yummy!
My kids and I (and my coworkers and neighbors!) love this! I use 4-5 bananas and add cinnamon and up to 2 tsp oil. I also use egg beaters or just egg whites. You can't tell it's "healthy" and whenever I make this, it's gone in no time flat!!
I absolutely love this recipe I have made it several times... I teach a Home Economics class and I used it in my class too. It has no oil or butter (low fat) and it comes out incredibly moist everytime, yet it still has a nice fluffy cosistancy, not to dense like the recipies that replace the oil with yogurt. I am replacing my normal Banana Bread recipe that I have used for years with this one! Fabulous!!!
I love how this turned out! I did take the suggestions of other reviewers and used 5 bananas, plus I used 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. I also used sucanat instead of white sugar (which added a bit of a Ginger taste) and whole wheat flour. My whole family loves it!
Great recipe, however I changed it before trying the original. I used 5 bananas, and added a bunch of cinnamon. I also used wheat flour to make it heartier. I think the extra bananas and the cinnamon combated the lack of taste noted by others.
