Combine flour, sugar and salt. Scald milk, pour into mixing bowl, add shortening to dissolve. Dissolve yeast in medium hot water. Mix all liquids together, add flour mixture and mix well. Pour into oiled bowl. Place bowl over hot water. Cover, let rise 1 hour. Pour mixture into floured pan, knead well. Form rolls, place in baking pan, cover, let rise 1 hour. Bake in preheated oven at 325°. Bake 25 minutes. Remove from oven and spread butter on tops while hot.
