These biscuits, which you can make as chewy or crispy as you wish, make a healthy snake that's popular with all age groups. They keep well in an airtight container.
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees
2. Line the baking sheets with non-stick baking parchment.
3. Heat the butter in a small pan and add the golden syrup. Stir to combine.
4. In a cup, add 2 tablespoons boiling water to the bicarbonate of soada and then tip the mixture into the butter and syrup.
5. Combine the sugar, oats, desiccated coconut and flour in a large bowl.
6. Drop dessert spoons of the mixture onto the baking sheets, leaving plenty of space around each one as the biscuits will spread while cooking.
7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until they are well risen and golden, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool.
