Suggest a better descriptionRoll out 1 puff pastry sheet into a 10-inch square; score a 1-inch border around the edge with a knife and brush with egg wash. Pierce the rest all over with a fork. Bake at 400 degrees F until golden, 20 minutes.
Toss 2 cups each chopped asparagus and sliced shiitake mushrooms with olive oil and 1 grated garlic clove; season with salt and pepper. Broil until the vegetables are tender, 8 minutes. Bake the crust for Spring Tart (No. 12); top with the broiled vegetables and sprinkle with 1 cup grated gruyère. Broil until melted.
