Water chestnuts wrapped in bacon smothered in home made BBQ sauce
If you use fresh bacon, partially fry it to render off some of the grease, but it must still be limp enough to wrap. (Using fresh bacon and partially refrying yourself will add at least 30 minutes to the preparation times given. I always buy pre-fried bacon)
Wrap each chestnut in 1/2 strip bacon (use whole strip if chestnuts are too big). Secure with toothpick. Place in 8" square dish.
Pour mixture of remaining ingredients over the wrapped chestnuts.
Bake 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
