Savory Cheddar Cheese Macaroni from scratch and not very difficult at all.
1. Boil Macaroni in water seasoned with salt until halfway cooked. Drain and set aside.
2. Mix Flour, Dijon Mustard, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, White Pepper, Cayenne Pepper & Salt in a small bowl and set aside.
3. Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees F
4.. Melt Butter in a Large Saucepan and stir in flour mixture and Dijon Mustard to make a roux. Then slowly whisk in milk. Add Bay leaf and simmer until thickened. Temper in the Egg & add the Cheese a little at a time until melted into sauce. Remove Bay Leaf.
5. In a baking dish fold together macaroni noddles and cheese sauce. Top with Panko Bread Crumbs and a little shredded cheese.
6. Bake 30 Minutes or until browned and thickened.
