Suggest a better description1. In ungreased skillet lightly brown sausage. If cooked slice and set aside. If fresh, add the water, cover, and cook until completely cooked through - 8 to 10 mins. Uncover and cook for a few minutes more then cool and slice.
2. Wipe out skillet and warm the oil over med heat. Add the peppers, onion and garlic; cook, stirring, until tender. Transfer to slow cooker and add the sausage, beans, tomatoes and their juice and wine. Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 - 4 hrs or LOW for 6-8 hrs. Near the end of the cooking time remove lid to thicken if necessary. Season with salt and pepper.
