Black bean soup
In a large pot, cook the bacon. Remove bacon and set aside.
While bacon cooks in a small dish, mix together all the spices and brown sugar.
When bacon is done, in the same pot, add onion, bell pepper, jalapeno, garlic. Add spice mixture. Saute onion until softened.
Deglaze pot with coffee scraping up all bits from the pan.
Stir in black beans and chicken broth. Heat to a boil, then reduce to simmer. Simmer for about 20 minutes to blend flavors.
Put 6 cups of the soup in a blender and puree. Return to the pot, Stir in bacon and lime juice.
Serve topped with sour cream and cilantro.
