Cut bread into 1 inch cubes; place half in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cut cream cheese into 1 inch cubes. Top with 1 cup blueberries and remaining bread cubes. In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, salt and syrup;mix well. Cover with foil and bake at 350° for 30 mins. Uncover; bake another 30 mins until center is set. While french toast is baking, make sauce.
BLUEBERRY SAUCE
In a small saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and water until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir in blueberries, reduce heat. Summer for 8-10 minutes or until blueberries have burst. Stir in butter until melted. Serve warm with french toast. If serving as a buffet item, I like to spread the sauce over top of the toast.
