Preheat oven to 350.
For crust - spread cocounut on pan and toast for 7 mins. Reserve 1/2 cup for garnish. Mix remaining coconut with butter adn press into bottom and sides of 9" pie plate or 10" 3L springform pan. cover lightly and refrigerate until firm.
FILLING: soften gelatin in lime juice and place over simmering water and heat unit gelatin is liquified - 2-3 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine egg yolks and 1/2 cup sugarr in top of double boiler and beat with electric mixer. Add gelatin mixture and continue beating until mixture is thick enough to leave a path when a finger awn across a spoon - about 10 mis.
remove mixture from heat and let cool.
Blend in run, cointreau and zest.
Beat egg whites until stiff and glossy. Stir in spoonful of egg white unto cooled custard to lighten it a bit. Then, gently fold custard into egg whites - for marbled effedt. Gently fold in 1 c whipped cream.
Spoon filling into crust and create a dome shate in pie plate or smooth flat in springform pan.
Refrigerate until firm.
Just before serving, pipe rosettes of whipped cream and garnish with lime slices and toasted coconut.
