Combine first 5 ingredients in a saucepan, heat until cheese is almost all melted.
Spread filling over 2/3 of a slice of bread, roll up towards edge with no filling. They are easier to roll if crusts are cut off the sides.
At this stage they can be frozen for future use.
To cook, spread a little butter on both sides (or leave them unbttered if you prefer) and bake, grill or brown on a griddle/sandwich press, turning part way through, until golden brown and cheese filling is gooey. Serve with a bit more butter melting on the top.
Don't put too much filling in or it will ooze out during cooking
