Suggest a better descriptionMix the brown sugar, nuts, & flour together. Stir in the butter & work it by hand until it resembles course crumbs. Set aside 1 cup of the mixture for the topping & press the rest firmly into the bottom of an 8x8 pan. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes. Leave the oven on.
While the crust is baking, cream the cream cheese & sugar together. Add the egg, lemon juice, milk & vanilla, beat thoroughly, & pour it over the baked crust.
Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the top of the cream cheese layer & bake for another 25 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
