This one dish meal is made with cooked chicken, fresh mushrooms and shredded cheese.
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cook macaroni following package instructions; drainin colander and rinse.
3. Grease a 2 1/2 to 3 quart baking dish.
4. Add 2 tablespoons butter to the same pan and heat over medium heat.
5. Add pepper and salt.
6. Cook, stirring, until thickened.
7. Add mushrooms back to the sauce along with 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese.
8. Stir in parsley, chicken, peas and drained macaroni.
9. Stir to blend.
10. Spoon the macaroni mixture into a 2 1/2 quart baking dish.
11. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheese.
12. Melt the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons of butter and toss with the breadcrumbs.
13. Sprinkle the buttery bread crumbs over the top of the casserole.
14. Bake for 25 minutes or until browned and bubbly.
