Stir together flour, soda, & salt. In a mixer bowel beat butter & shortening on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar & beat till fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating well till combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop from a teaspoon 2 inches apart onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 F for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool 1 minute before removing to wire rack.
