Melt butter and suate onions over med-low heat 5 min. Add garlic and cook 3-5 min until soft. Reduce heat to low and add flour, stir 1 min then add liquid from clams. Stir to incorporate and increase heat to medium. Cook, stirring frequently until thickened and bubbling. Stir in vermouth and thyme and remove from heat. Boil water for 1# pasta (spaghetti or linguine). Return sauce to medium heat and bring to simmer. Add shrimp; cook 2 min if fresh and 5 min if frozen. Add pasta to water. Add parsley to sauce just before serving. Serve with Parmesan cheese
