This simple sauce uses jellied cranberry sauce for a twist on the classic grape jelly and chili sauce for cocktail meatballs.
Whisk ingredients together in a sauce pan, stirring frequently over medium heat until gently bubbling. Simmer gently, stirring nearly constantly, for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and toss with a full batch of hot cocktail meatballs. Holds well in a crockpot set on low.
There is a lot of sugar in this sauce, so it burns easily. Keep the heat moderate and stir frequently. If holding in a crockpot, keep it on low, and carefully monitor the heat/water level if holding in a chafer over sterno.
It works well to prep your favorite cocktail meatballs and pop them into the oven and then start on this sauce right away; they finish at about the same time and can then be brought together for service.
