Combine pesto and mayonnaise is a bowl and set aside.
Cook pasta. Drain. Return to pot.
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in frying pan, add carrots. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Add tomatoes and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Cook another 2-3 minutes. Pour into bowl and cover with foil.
Dry chicken and season with salt and pepper. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in same frying pan and cook chicken for 3-4 minutes. Add currants, capers and red pepper flakes and cook an additional 3-4 minutes.
Add the cooked vegetables to the pot of orzo with a drizzle of olive oil. Stir. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
Serve chicken mixture over orzo and top with pesto cream sauce.
