Fill 2 quart jars 3/4 of way to top.
Pour liquor over currant until nearly full.
Seal jars and let sit.
Let sit for 4 months.
Empty the contents into a sauce pan.
Bring to a boil.
Strain the juice.
Measure the quantity of juice.
For every 1 quart of juice, add one cup of sugar and quart of eau de vie or vodka.
Combine in a sauce pan, and bring to a boil and simmer until sugar is dissolved and mixture is syrupy (app. 10 minutes).
Pour into sterilized bottles.
Seal.
