Preheat electric skillet to 370 degrees F.
Soften 1 package yeast in 2 tablespoons warm water. Add 1 cup scolded milk (let cool to slightly warm), add yeast, add salt, add sugar, add well beaten egg and melted butter.
Stir in 2 cups sifted flour and beat until batter is very smooth. Add 2 cups more of flour and blend well.
Work in 2 tablespoons more of melted butter. Blend well and turn onto floured board. Knead dough until smooth and satiny. Turn into buttered bowl and let rise until doubled.
Punch down and roll into 1/2" thickness and 5" long. Let rise again until double.
Fry in bacon grease at 370 degrees until brown. Drain and roll in sugar.
