Saute onions until carmalized. Remove onions from oil and brown steak on both sides. Arrange steaks in baking dish. Layer onions and mushrooms on top. Make sauce with liquids and add enough water to make 1 cup. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Uncover and cook 15 minutes.
