George Pierce's Stuffing
Fry sausage in large skillet. Cut bacon into small pieces and add. Add butter, 1/2 cube at a time (Dad had 1 to 2 cubes originally). While this is cooking, cut bread into cubes and toast in large pan in oven. Add chopped onions and celery toskillet misture, continuing to add butter. Sprinkle 1 T poultry seasoning in. Cook several minutes and add chicken broth. Cook 5 minutes or so. When bread cubes are browned, pour mixture over them in large blue plastic bowl and mix well. Add parsley, eggs, nuts and mix well.
Drain juices from turkey. Stuff turkey and tie together with string. Brush with oil. Bake one hour at 425. Bake about 2 more hours at 350.
Nov 1985 I used no butter at all and put in one can French Onion Soup. Tasted great and was not noticeably different.
