Date slice with coconut and oats
Mix all dry ingredients
Add butter and eggs and beat on the slowest setting until mixed well.
Press with fork into a buttered slice tin
Bake in moderate oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown
When cold, cut into bars.
Preparation of mixed spice (if not available)
5 teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
5 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon (less if using Cassia which is much stronger than Cinnamon)
1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
1 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
Mix all together and keep in a sealed jar.
