Quick and easy with no heavy cream. Not my original reciepe but I can't find the site to give credit.
In a small saucepan, place cream cheese, butter, garlic, milk, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
Over med, high heat bring to a mild boil whisking frequently.
3-4min.
Reduce heat to low and whisk constantly for 7 min.
Remove from heat and let stand uncovered for 5 min. Serve over pasta of your choice
