Slice fruit into 9X9 pan sprinkle with some sugar if not quite ripe or not sweet fruit.
In small bowl combine, flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add some cinnamon or nutmeg if desired. Mix in egg to form crumble. Put in even layer over the fruit level but do not pack.
Pour melted butter over the crumb mixture.
Bake at 350 for one hour till golden brown. Can be eaten warm or cold
My favorite fruit for this is peaches but have used apples and cherries.
You can use margarine but I prefer butter
