This is my grandmother's recipe for German sweet pastry crust. This dough is good for fruit pies. Makes enough for 1 double crust pie.
Place flour in a mound. Break egg in center. Cut butter in pieces over the mound. Cut the butter in quickly mixing in quickly. Add salt, sugar and sufficient water to make a dough. Knead for 5 minutes or until smooth. Cover and allow to stand for 1-2 hours before rolling out. Good for fruit pies.
