The best pecan pie (when it works)
Mix brown sugar and flour.
Melt butter.
Beat and add eggs.
Add Karo syrup, vanilla, and pecans.
Add mix to unbaked pie shell.
Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes, then lower the oven to 325 and continue baking for 35 minutes.
Note from Natalie: The key to getting the pie to set is to ensure the internal temperature is 190 degrees F. Even if it takes longer than 35 minutes.
