From Jason Smid's recipe
Dissolve yeast in warm water with flour and sugar
Cut bread into cubes
Mix together flour and salt- add warm milk and beaten eggs (be sure yeast mixture is fermenting, tiny little bubbles will appear)
Then add yeast mixture to flour mixture
Mix well- 150 beats
Then FOLD in bread cubes, do not beat
Cover and let rise in warm place for one hour or until it doubles in size
Form into four balls and drop into boiling water (do not put on wax paper while waiting for water to boil- it will stick)
Boil for 18 to 20 mins in a covered pot. Make sure water continues to boil for entire 20 mins
Do not uncover pot while cooking
Take out one by one and cut with string
