This light and delicious sauce is perfect for any occasion!!!
Cut Tomatoes in half (core out middle) and chop onion. In an oiled pan on Medium, place tomatoes, open side down with Star Anise. In another pan, sweat onions until soft. Gently, 'mush' tomatoes in pan once soft (about 15-20 minutes). Add cooked onions, basil and whole garlic cloves. Salt and Pepper to taste and drizzle with olive oil. Simmer for about 10-15 minutes. Ready to serve ( you can take out cloves of garlic if you'd like before serving )
