In a large stand mixer bowl, cream the butter with sugar and beat.
Add vanilla and egg.
Alternately add the flour and sour cream in even batches, mixing only until incorporated
With a 1/4 cup measure, drop the batter onto cookie sheets, allowing at least 3 inches between cookies.
With the palm of your hand, flatten cookies until they are 2-3 inches in diameter
Bake for 15 to 18 mins until light brown, cool on wire rack
For white icing, combine all ingredients and whisk
For chocolate icing, place all ingredients in a double boiler over simmering water.
Stir until chocolate has melted and mixture is smooth
Cool for 5 mins at least
Spread half of one cookie with white, half with chocolate
Set a room temp for 30-45 mins
