My sister, Norma, created this recipe as a home economics project. Her best friend submitted the recipe to a cooking contest and won a trip to the bake-off.

Drain pineapple. Chop cherries and drain on paper towel. Blend together butter, cream cheese and vanilla. Beat in sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add sifted dry ingredients. Mix. Stir in pineapple, cherries and nuts. Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
