Suggest a better description-In large pot, combine potatoes with enough water to cover. Bring to boil over high heat; cook until tender, 15-20 minutes.
-Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spread almonds on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake, stirring once, until lightly browned, 3-4 minutes; cool.
-Butter 2 quart baking dish. Drain potatoes, then return to pot; add sour cream, Cheddar, cream cheese, scallions, butter, salt, and pepper. Mash potatoes, then spoon into baking dish. Bake 30 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with almonds.
-To make ahead, spoon potato mixture into baking dish; cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Let dish come to room temperature before baking, adding about 15 minutes to baking time. Sprinkle with almonds.
