Heat in a sauce pan over medium low heat for about 5 minutes, whisking often. Add flax and whisk well. Continue to cook for another minute
Transfer to a serving bowl and top with butter and syrup if desired. Sprinkle with a little bit more pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
Serve with a glass of milk
