Preheat oven to 350
Plump raisins - soak in very hot water approx. 5-10 min.; drain and squeeze.
In large bowl mix dry ingredients together.
In separate bowl, mix wet ingredients will with wire whisk; add this mixture to dry ingredients and mix well. Add raisins to batter and mix well but don't overmix.
Grease and flour a medium loaf pan and pour batter into it. Bake for 50-60 minutes. Test the center of the loaf with a toothpick for doneness. When it comes out clean the bread is done.
