Suggest a better descriptionIn a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, cream the butter, cream cheese and vanilla until lightly fluffy. Add the chopped candied jalapeños. Beat in the flour mixture, 1/2 cup at time, blending well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350. Roll dough inti 1 1/4 inch balls. Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheets 1 inch apart. Use thumb to press a 1 inch diameter indent in the center of each cookie; fill with jalapeño jelly. Bake13-15 minutes or until pale brown on the bottom. Cool on racks. Add jelly to the center of each cookie if needed. Makes 36 cookies. CANDIED CHOPPED JALAPEÑOS - seed, devein and chop 10 large red jalapeños into large pieces. Place in a medium saucepan with 11/2 cups sugar and 11/2 tsp lemon zest and heat to boiling on low heat, stirring to combine thoroughly. Cool and refrigerate overnight. Drain we'll to remove as much syrup as possible. Finely chop the jalapeños before stirring into the cookie batter.
