Sue's Christmas Recipe
Put first four ingredients in a pan and bring nearly to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Allow to cool.
Mix soda with hot water.
Add final 5 ingredients to cooled mixture and mix until it makes a stiff batter.
Cover and let stand for 1 week, at least.
Roll out, cut shapes and bake at 350 degrees F for 12 minutes.
