Put a pot of water for cooking macaroni on to boil. When boiling add salt and macaroni; stir. Melt butter in a sauce pan and stir in flour and mustard powder. Slowly whisk in milk to avoid lumps. Simmer mixture until boiling and thickened. When tender; drain macaroni and return to pan. Add sauce and stir well. Mix in 2 thirds of the grated cheese and pepper. Place in casserole dish. Mix remaining cheese with bread crumbs and spread evenly over the top. Place in broiler for a few minutes to brown.
If you burn the butter...start over. My broiler browns top really quickly...keep a close eye on it or it will burn.
