Yummy treat. Soft type of Poppycock. Great for Christmas celebrations!
Heat oven to 300. Spread nuts on cookie sheet and toast lightly in the oven. Cool, Mix with popcorn in a large buttered bowl.
Combine sugar, butter, syrup and cream of tarter in a deep & heavy saucepan. Cook until mixture form a hard ball when dropped into cold water.(250 on the candy thermometer) about 5 min.
Remove from heat,stir in soda then vanilla/almond. Watch out it boils up! Pour over popcorn and nuts. Mix with two buttered forks so all are coated well.
Turn out on large buttered cookie sheet and quickly press down to an even layer with back of a large buttered spoon.
Cool until hard. Break up and enjoy.
