1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Blend shortening, sugars, vanilla, soda and salt with mixer. Beat until smooth and creamy.
3. Beat in eggs. Slowly add flour then stir in chocolate chips. Batter will be stiff.
4. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 in apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
5. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
