Suggest a better descriptionHeat oven to 400 degrees (you may also fry the meatballs on the stove top).
Combine bread and buttermilk in a small bowl, mashing occasionally with a fork until a smooth paste forms.
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl, adding the paste. Lightly form the balls, about 3 tablespoons of the mixture, into 1 1/2 inch round balls. Do not compact. Bake or fry in oil in a single layer for about 15 minutes, turning once or twice during the process.
Add hot spaghetti sauce and serve over al dente spaghetti.
