Suggest a better descriptionSieve the flour, baking powder and salt into the mixing bowl. Stir in the sugar and leave to one side. Crack the egg into a bowl, add it to the milk and whisk them together. Pour into a jug. Pour the milk and egg mix into the flour and beat. Over a medium heat, melt a quarter of the butter in a pan. When the butter begins to bubble, you are ready. Ladle two spoonfuls of batter into the frying pan. Fry the pancakes for 2 minutes until bubbles appear on top and the underside turn golden. Use a spatula to flip the cakes. Cook the other side for 2 minutes. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
