MUST CHILL DOUGH FOR 1 HOUR.
Blend together cream cheese and 1 stick butter. Stir in flour. Chill one hour.
Shape dough into 2 dozen 1" balls, press into tart pan.
In bowl, beat together egg, brown sugar, 1 T. softened butter, vanilla and salt until smooth.
Divide 1/2 cup (or less) pecan pieces amongst tart shells. Pour mixture into each tart shell. Top with more pecan pieces.
Bake at 325 for 25 minutes.
