Our neighbor in Wethersfield, CT., Mrs. Rosen, made a great raisin cookie. Very doughy, and a bit involved, for a cookie, with re-hydrating the raisins. But great!
Re-hydrate the raisins in the water in a COVERED saucepan over low heat, about 15 minutes, until at least almost all the water is absorbed and the raisins are plump. Cool.
Stir together... rest of ingredients once I find the card for this...
Chill dough 1-2 hours.
Roll finished golf-ball-sized dough balls in the sugar.
Bake on a greased baking sheet 20 minutes at 350 degrees, only until lightly brown. Cool on a cookie rack, store in airtight container as soon as cool.
